Under the direct supervision of the Bureau of Elections Supervisor, is responsible for vote checking, certifying and maintaining voting machines, and election procedures for the Bureau.
Clears pre and post election programming and vote checking of all voting machines, performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, cleaning and organizing of machines, delivers and picks up voting machines from assigned polling sites, assists in training staff on use of machines, prepares reports and correspondence relating to machine problems, delivers and picks up voter registration forms at designated sites every ten days as required by state statue, performs general custodial duties in the warehouse, performs support staff functions to ensure continuity of work as assigned, and is responsible for k knowing and abiding by all County and department policies and procedures.
Additional Duties. May be assigned additional related duties.
Education. High School Diploma or GED
Experience. One (1) year mechanical, electro mechanical or computer-related experience.
Education/Experience substitution. In accordance with county policy.
Licenses/Certifications. Must have a valid unrestricted Driver's License (Class D). Must obtain and maintain Certified Voting Machine Technician at the conclusion of training.
Other. Background check and Driver's license record check. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.
Must be able to obtain and maintain required certification at the completion of training, work with culturally diverse population, work independently with little supervision when performing tasks, taking appropriate action while recognizing when it is necessary to refer to the supervisor, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
